The first thing a couple should do after they have decided on a date is to look for venues, esp in Hong Kong during year end, it’s peak season for weddings as it’s less hot & humid, many venues are held/booked by other couples already even though its 1.5 years away! It is crazy!! It’s not easy to find a venue that can fit similar number of tables you are looking for and also has an interior you like. So we are really really glad we found IT!!

I wanted a marquee venue so we actually didn’t have a lot of choices to start with, there were only Repulse Bay Hotel & Aberdeen Marina Club as we’re trying to do everything within Hong Kong Island to save a bit of traveling time. After looking at those two places, we picked AMC. Repulse Bay got an excellent view, but it’s kind of a waste if you are holding your dinner banquet there because it’s gonna be so dark you wont really see the sea we think. And the most important issue is that their marquee is kind of small, fitting about 14 tables will be quite tough… and tight.

Even though we couldnt see what the whole AMC marquee looks like (they only open their whole marquee which holds 14-18 tables from November to March as it’s located at the pool side and summer is mainly for their members to enjoy the pool), after seeing the small marquee, we have a sense of how wide the marquee is, so to feel if it’s gonna be spacious enough after putting the tables. And the photos on their website is a plus to make me feel comfortable that it could look really good.

so YAY, I am going to have my poolside + marquee wedding banquet that I’ve always wanted :) Next step… To look for our perfect wedding ceremony & lunch venue.
